Every neurology program in the country must include 3
months of Pediatric Neurology as part of its curriculum.
As many pediatric neurologic conditions are very rare
(genetic and metabolic), this experience varies widely
between different programs. Our program is very
fortunate to include the Division of Pediatric Neurology at the
Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital. Rainbow is
the region's premier medical facility dedicated to the
care of children and their families. With a staff of
more than 850 physicians, Rainbow consistently rates as
one of the top 5 Pediatric hospitals in the country and
the best in the midwest.
The
Division of Pediatric Neurology includes
eight
full-time staff with expertise in metabolic disorders,
epilepsy, neuro-oncology, behavioral neurology, movement
disorders, and rehabilitation. Neurology
resident rotate through Pediatric Neurology both their
second and third years. The Pediatric Neurology rotation
is a combined in-patient and out-patient rotation. |
